Dillon Before the Dam was Built
Summit County is just 65 miles west of Denver via I-70. The county is called "Colorado's Playground" for its skiing, cycling, hiking, sailing and kayaking.  Whatever your interests…Summit County offers you outdoor activities any time of the year!  Dillon is located in the heart of Summit County and is in the center of the world's greatest ski resorts…yet here you can escape the high price of a ski-in/ski-out condo and the hustle bustle at the resorts. You also have Lake Dillon and all its activities during the summer months. Dillon is one mile east of I-70, so you have no traffic noise.

If you can imagine no Lake Dillon and three rivers coming together where a trading post and clusters of cabins might have existed, then you can imagine the first town of Dillon in the late 1800s. Soon Denver needed water storage in the high country and the town was relocated and a reservoir built in 1963. One of the few buildings that was salvaged and moved was the Arapahoe Café, which is now located 1/2 block from my condos. It is a great place to eat.

Just across the street from Lake Cliffe is the Dillon Marina, the Dillon Amphitheater and a large park. You can view the schedule for planned concerts, and other events, at: townofdillon.com/Calendar. During the summer you can rent boats, attend one of the free Saturday night concerts or take the kids to the new playground. From June through September there is a Farmer's Market every Friday next to the amphitheater. The bike path that begins in Keystone and ends in Vail runs right in front of the condo complex. During the winter there is a great sledding hill just left of the Marina.
